What do you need to learn to quilt?

We created four quilting videos as a start for your quilting journey. In these videos, you learn about the nine quilting tools you really need to start, you get some quilting inspiration, how to prepare your clothes to quilt and the basic video to make your first mini memory quilt in about three hours time.

1. Assemble your quilting tools

Quilting can be done with a basic sewing kit or with a €10.000 + sewing machine and everything in between. In this video, I show you the 9 basic tools you need to quilt.

2. Prepare your fabrics

Quilting is storytelling. Textiles hold memories. This combination creates the magic of quilting! That’s why we are going to quilt with old clothes and saved textiles! Bonus:  This is also good for the environment because it extends the life of textiles. The video shows how I prepare saved textiles before quilting.

3. Get inspiration to make

So what are the possibilities of quilting? In this video, I show you some projects you could make with quilting techniques.

4. Start small

Quilting can be picked up and put down very easily, especially done by hand. It can be done for 5 minutes at a time and 5 hours. You’ll see that if you quilt 30 minutes a day you’ll have amazing results. Check this video and playlist for a mini memory quilt tutorial. It’s a great place to start!
